Tenant space converted existing mercantile space to an assembly classroom occupancy. Prior to a building permit application, a zoning certificate of occupancy was obtained. The project included a dojo classroom with agile furniture that was designed to be reconfigured after covid-19 became a concern. Square Vis Architects worked closely with headquarters and the franchisee to implement the design per code requirements. The project was executed in a BIM environment. Sustainable strategies included the installation of smart thermostats and utilizing low VOC finishes; Water-conserving plumbing was specified and LED lights. The centre included the main reception with a waiting area. It also included a kitchenette and washrooms in the back.
